It is now well known that rugs weaving was widespread even at ancient times. As far as rugs were hand-made, every family possessed only a limited number of carpets. Every rug was individual and could serve through the years. Often rugs replaced money in some countries in past. Even now economics of Iran depends on rug trading greatly.
Last year, rugs yield revenue of approximately 17 billion dollars. Rugs can serve as decorations, but usually they are intended for covering floors. All carpets in the world are divided into those who have pile and those who have not. With the development of machinery it is getting very difficult to find a real hand-made rug.
But it doesn’t mean that factory rugs give in to hand-made rugs. You shouldn’t underestimate factory rugs – they gain by geometric characteristics, while hand-made rugs are squared less properly. Modern rugs are weaved using a very precise technique, so you won’t be disappointed.
