Rag Rugs
Like most European contemporary imported rugs are not bound on all sides, which add the modern look to the rugs. Usually imported rugs are the thickest and luxurious rugs; they are of the most fun and bright imported rugs! Imported rugs are usually machine-made and of a great quality
Rag rugs are made of clothing strips. Rag rugs can be made of a variety of fabrics such as wool, cotton, silk or rayon. Don’t try to mix the kinds of fabrics you are about to use. It may cause the shrinkage of material. If you want a finer and softer rug, choose soft fabrics. Hard fabrics will result in coarser rag rugs.
Rag rugs are the best way to recycle your old clothes that appear to be unused or are just out fashion. If you want to get involved in the rag rugs making you should perform the following steps.
First of all prepare rag strips. These strips can be from one quarter to one inch wide, depending on the kind of rag rugs and desired sturdiness.
Then fold the fabric so that the horizontal grain is parallel to the vertical grain. Mark a straight line along the bias. With sharp scissors cut the lines you have marked. Now it is a turn of sewing ends of strips together. Then overlap a pair of two strips by about three eighth inch and crochet, working with double thickness of the two strips to join.
