Tibetan Rugs

Like most European contemporary imported rugs are not bound on all sides, which add the modern look to the rugs. Usually imported rugs are the thickest and luxurious rugs; they are of the most fun and bright imported rugs! Imported rugs are usually machine-made and of a great quality.

Tibetan rugs differ from other rugs greatly. Tibetan lifestyle is deeply intertwined with religion of Buddhism. And it leaves a mark on Tibetan rugs too. As far as Tibet is considered to be the part of China and it borders on India, Tibetan culture incorporates some features of both of them. Tibet is a very secretive place, which attracts people from all over the world.

Tibetan rugs are quite modest but such minimalist style is now getting more and more popular. Usually Tibetan rugs are manufactured of jute. Throughout history these rugs have been valued for their capacity to take and hold beautiful colors.

The inner fibers of a jute stalk are quite soft after retting, cleaning and combing and being spun into yarn. Even though the fiber of jute is soft enough it is very strong and durable. Tibetan rugs are notable for a beautiful play of colours under direct sunlight. Both religious and secular motives are widespread in Tibetan rugs.
